Dimensions & Patterns

How your life dimensions interact — and what your pattern reveals

The Evaligned framework maps six interconnected dimensions of life — not as a checklist, but as a system. When one dimension shifts, others respond. The assessment resolves your scores into one of 12 named archetypes, each with a specific causal story and a distinct path forward.

The physical layer

The body is the foundation — not a lifestyle preference

Sleep, movement, nutrition, and recovery are not one dimension among six. They are the substrate on which every other dimension depends. When the body is chronically depleted, nothing else in the system functions properly — regardless of motivation, insight, or support.

Evaligned is not a fitness programme. But it takes the body seriously — because the research is unambiguous: sleep quality, regular movement, and nutritional adequacy are the highest-leverage interventions available for mental health, emotional regulation, and sustained cognitive performance.

Sleep

7–9 hours of restorative sleep is the single highest-leverage health intervention. It governs emotional regulation, memory consolidation, immune function, and next-day cognitive performance.

Movement

22 minutes of moderate daily movement is as effective as medication for depression and anxiety (BMJ, 2023). The body was built to move — sedentary modern life is the anomaly.

Nutrition

90% of serotonin is produced in the gut. Nutritional psychiatry shows that diet quality directly shapes mood, cognition, and emotional stability — not just physical health.

Recovery

Rest is not the absence of work — it requires specific conditions. Psychological detachment, nature exposure, and genuine downtime restore the system in ways passive distraction cannot.

Evaligned measures and tracks your Energy & Health alongside every other dimension — and when it detects physical depletion as the root cause, the system prioritises recovery before anything else. The platform also curates trusted external resources for sleep, movement, and nutrition, so you have the right tools without needing to become an expert.

The cascade model

How dimensions deplete each other

The Evaligned Model holds that life dimensions are not independent — they interact through what we call cascade effects. A significant weakness in a foundation-tier dimension (Energy & Health, Emotional Balance) will predictably degrade connective-tier functioning (Mental Clarity, Relationships), which in turn suppresses expression-tier dimensions (Purpose, Soul & Inner Life).

This is not a theoretical abstraction. It is what clinicians and coaches observe consistently: the person who cannot find meaning in their work often does not have a purpose problem — they have a depletion problem. The person who cannot maintain relationships often does not have a relational problem — they have an emotional regulation problem that surfaces in connection.

The cascade model changes the intervention logic fundamentally. Rather than working on the lowest dimension score, the framework identifies which dimension is the primary driver of the pattern — the weakness that is causing other dimensions to be low. That is the lever point.

The lever point

The one shift that moves everything

Most frameworks say: work on your lowest score. The Evaligned Model says something different: find the dimension whose improvement would unlock the most compound change across the system.

In a system of interconnected dimensions, not all interventions have equal leverage. Addressing a suppressed expression-tier dimension (Purpose, Soul) when the underlying driver is a depleted foundation-tier dimension (Energy, Emotional Balance) produces limited and temporary results. The symptom changes; the pattern does not.

The lever point is identified through two sources of information: the score profile (which dimensions are low and in what configuration), and the conversational follow-up (which surfaces the specific context behind the numbers). Together, these allow the AI to distinguish between a purpose problem and a depletion problem that is presenting as a purpose problem — a distinction that matters enormously for what actually helps.

The lever point is the single most important output of the assessment. It answers not "what is wrong?" but "where, if I focused my energy, would I get the most return across everything else?"

Pattern archetypes

12 named patterns

Score combinations resolve into one of 12 named archetypes — each with a specific causal story, a typical cascade path, and a distinct intervention logic. Archetypes go beyond labelling; they describe why a pattern exists and what actually moves it.

The Exhausted Achiever

Knows what matters, but is running at significant cost to energy and emotional stability. The drive is intact. The capacity is not.

The Identity Crossroads

Purpose and Soul both low. The previous version of self no longer fits, but the next has not formed. Not a productivity problem — a being problem.

Purpose, Soul

The Hollow Performer

Life is functional by external measures but increasingly empty. Things are working. Something essential is missing.

The Overcapacity Trap

Clear direction, but the mental and physical conditions to act on it have broken down. The problem is capacity, not clarity of intent.

The Suppressed Strain

One dimension — usually Emotional Balance — is significantly lower than everything else. An internal load is being carried quietly.

The Relational Drain

The relational environment is depleting rather than supporting. Consistently draining everything else regardless of motivation or clarity.

Relationships, Energy

The Relational Isolation

Relationships score very low; other dimensions moderate. The core difficulty is genuine human connection and belonging.

The Disconnected Operator

Moving through life efficiently, but the inner world has been quietened down in the process. Things function. Depth has gone.

The Bright But Scattered

Strong sense of direction, but poor mental bandwidth. The motivation is there. The capacity to act on it consistently is not.

Mental ClarityPurpose

The Quietly Unravelling

All dimensions in a moderate range, low variance. Nothing catastrophic — but persistent, normalised erosion across everything.

The Recovery Arc

Multiple dimensions low, one clear strength. Coming out of a genuinely hard period. The strength is the foothold.

The Directional Fog

Purpose and Mental Clarity both low, reinforcing each other. The fog produces more fog.
